I'm pretty sure the big announcement was the deal with Hendrick to produce the current style Camaro and HMS schemes. Scheduled to start in January or February 2022. |

This made me go back and read some posts made when first announced. I sure got beat up when I said no way the kits would be on shelf OCT 2021!!! To be clear I was not trying to be negative.....I've worked on enough kits to know.
Add the current delays in EVERYTHING and their new ETA date will be tough. Good luck to them. Hope I don't take another beating over telling the truth. |

Um, no. PUBLIC will know in November.
We in the Builder's Club get news before the general public and it is up to us to keep it confidential. We will be removed from the Builder's Club and it's privileges if we leak that info.
We're sworn to secrecy. Seriously.
(EDIT) This secrecy is dictated in signed contracts with the parties involved. _________________ << On The Bench --- 2022 Elliott Hooters |

Yep, those Non Disclosure Agreements can be a real P.I.T.A.
But I can't be bribed, nor do I have the $$$ to fight any suits that come from any violations, lol
Everyone will just have to wait. |

Not ranting and fussing, I buy Salvino's kits, but I find the whole "builder's club" thing a little putting off. If only further divides us instead of bringing us together, seems like the model car hobby is already split up enough. I could be way off base on that, would hope that I am, but that's how I see it.
I know, I could join, but with the coming Gen 6 kits ( and I am very happy for you modern builders) I don't want to get locked in having to buy a kit. And there are only so many Monogram repops I need to buy, I already have more than enough of the originals. |

The ' I know something I won't tell' reminds me of the old Looney Toons cartoon.
I understand 'non disclosure' and how they are needed in industry. Made a number of them myself when I was doing work for companies. BUT...I was PAID to keep my moth shut! I did not pay someone else to keep my mouth shut!!! Just seems very odd. Those that are members and feel they get a benefits....COGRATS I am happy you aree happy. Just not for me.....unless they want to pay me!!!
Warning....this is not anyone here....just for reference

I figured this is what the big announcement would be, I remember Rick and Jim talking about this back when I was still in the club in the spring and early summer.
It will be interesting to see how this kit turns out, it sure has been a long time since current cars have been available as kits. |

Rick Salvino of Salvino's JR announced today he wanted all 4 Hendrick Camaros to be ready for the Daytona 500 2022. Barring any problems, this should happen. Mike's Decals would have more info than I have, but just quoting Mr. Salvino this morning. _________________ << On The Bench --- 2022 Elliott Hooters |

This is what Mikes Decals said, they never said they were doing the Gen 6 car, they were "announcing" they entered into a licensing agreement to do them if, IF, they can get the Revell Gen 6 molds from Revell/China) ( Mike didnt say that part , someone else did and now I can't find that post) |

They cannot get the Gen 6 tooling from China due to continuing Revell Bankruptcy issues. Salvino's, Mike's, other involved parties were trying to buy the tooling, but came up without.
The Next Gen opportunity NASCAR provided was too good to ignore, so they went in THAT direction.
Some confusion is realized and understood by the involved parties. _________________ << On The Bench --- 2022 Elliott Hooters |

These guys REALLY, really need to hire people who know what their doing, because they're so far over their heads. There's absolutely no excuse for them to misunderstand what kind of license they got from Nascar & HMS. Huge difference between a Gen6 and the NextGen cars.
Here's another crazy idea: 3D scan a Revell Gen6 kit, stop screwing around trying to get the molds you're never going to acquire.
AMT just did this with the original Ertl Transtar cabover they recently released. They improved an already great kit, it was a brilliant idea on their part. _________________ Joe Oteri

They didn't misunderstand anything. The Gen 6 effort was before NASCAR came calling. NASCAR wanted Next Gen and Salvino's said they could do it. Salvinos knew it was better to go with the new car than a car that was going obsolete in a year.
Salvinos will do better with Next Gen than Gen 6 all day long. _________________ << On The Bench --- 2022 Elliott Hooters |

I know there aren't official renderings of '22 cars yet, but when they posted the ad showing 4 HMS Gen6 cars....there was never a note about them actually being NextGen cars. Now don't get me wrong, I'm excited we have the new car coming, but they need to work on their communication skills. The whole Builders Club thing is a scam too. I echo what Gary said, why divide this hobby even more? I'm sorry I don't do Facebook, but they've created this "sEcReT ClUb" and have passed it off like it's some higher society of model building...It's unnecessary and kinda insulting actually. _________________ Joe Oteri

I understand the confusion between the pictures in the ad and the actual announcement. I think a lot of people assumed a Gen 6, of which I was one of those people.
It was more to introduce the deal with Hendrick Motorsports rather than a Gen 6 Camaro. as you said, there's no '22 renders/schemes announced yet.
Mislead? I don't think that was intentional.
As for the Builders Club, I think you're making more of a divide by continuing to bring it up rather than letting it slide.
We pay FULL RETAIL for a kit with extra decals once a month.... A 'Kit Of The Month' subscription service. The private Facebook Group for the Builders Club is a place to hang out and hear about things upcoming a little earlier than everyone else. I don't know that it makes us 'superior' by any means.
Your mileage may vary. _________________ << On The Bench --- 2022 Elliott Hooters |

The club isn't for me either but I can see how others would like it. From a business perspective a steady monthly income stream is probably an asset and if the members feel a connection to the company through the club then that's probably good too. |

From what I have seen and heard, once tooling goes to China, it never comes back. They will scrap it before they send it back.
The Atlantis people have reverse engineered some missing parts and are bringing some old kits back, it can be done.
I am very pleased that folks who want a modern car can now buy and build them, that needed to happen. I hope they get it right and keep the errors to a minimum. |

Hey Joe, I fully agree, so when I got an email back from Mike's Decals saying the tenitive cost will be about $34 , I felt a bit better about jumping the gun and pre ordering............4 of them before knowing the price. |
