I miss the old board. Even the bickering was educational.
Sigh...

Ol' Luke '57 was an inspiration to a lot of us darksiders. RIP Jerry. |

I miss the old board as well. Jerry's contributions were always among my favourites. |

This board/The Dark Side was the first thing I looked at for years at work. I'd get to work maybe 15 min early every day and sit down at my desk with a cup of coffee and fire my computer up. After it came up I'd log into Randy's site and see what was happening. It was always good to see Luke57 or Gator had posted. I used to take their pictures and make a calendar for the month to hang on my wall. When I posted that I was doing that Jerry posted back saying "image that, my work is hanging on the wall at Boeing." I loved those pictures and the craftsmenship that when into the dioramas.
Thanks for the memories Luke57 and Gator!

Jerry invited me over here back in 2007. I don't know if I had posted something, or was just conversing about Nascar builds in general, at the scale auto site. He said if you really like Nascar builds, you should go over to Randy Ayers site. He had a wealth of information about Nascar and Nascar builds, and a super nice guy as well. |

Jerry Sims was one of the reasons I checked out Randy Ayers site, he was always a friend and a go to person for darkside information!
The old board was awesome, and all of the Darksiders were key to me learning more about the sport!
I was focused on the Darkside back in the day, but not a lot of info until Greg Fielden, Jerry Sims and you guys from the Darkside! |

I still remember when Jerry passed away, it just didn't seem real because he seemed so full of life. I only knew him through this forum but Luke 57 was always a great resource, especially if you needed information about a lessor known driver. Miss him! |
