Have a question or 2.....
back in the '70's how and why did AMT come out with the GK sprint and its supermodied version???
Not to mention the Tobias type modifieds????
There was not internet back then, so how did AMT come to make those kits??????
Even though they were far from perfect, at minimum in the tires, that were obviously used for the Tobias and GK kits. While the GK kit left a lot to be desired as to fit issues, etc, the Tobias kit was much nicer.
To be back even little further, Why did AMT create the Modified Stocker series??? and reissue most of those kits, as well as the Tobias modifeds, Granted it took another company to get AMT to reissue the GK sprints just over 10 years ago
not to mention MPC back in the '70's MPC also jumped on the proverbial band wagon with their much nicer Super Stocker series, not to mention their version of modifieds. some of those kits have been reissued, though not in the recent past....
So, if on one takes the time to fill out the survey, how can we see NEW short track kits???? or kits that have never been produced, whether it be race car, or street cars......
Even if one does not like Scale Auto magazine, it does not mean you shouldn't fill out a survey that they have taken the time to make available. The survey also asks what eras of kits you like to build....not just race cars.....
I'll jump off my soap box now......

Ah....The Magnum
along with the Cordoba...
Rental car company I worked for back then still featured Chrysler products and we service agents had "fun" with these cars, but taking the air cleaner top/lid and turning it upside down. These cars had 4-BBL carbs and once the engine warmed up to were the rear barrels kicked in, oh the sound it made with the gap between the lid and the body of the air cleaner.
Funny story....one day one of the traveling "inspectors" (not the right term) was up on the line when I happened to be up there as well. He was driving a Cordoba and when he got on the freeway and hit the gas, he thought the car was blowing up when the extra barrels kicked in. I tried not to laugh, but walked up to the car he was driving, popped the hood and put the air cleaner lid back the way it was suppose to be.... _________________ Ed. K |
