All,
Anyone built the recent AMT release of the Munster's Drag-U-la?
Not much to the kit, parts-wise. Not a fan of the 2-piece drag slicks.
Researching the car from original pics, it looks like either a brushed metal gold (high reflective content) or a very bright plain gold (can't tell from 60s technology/ quality pics if it's metallic or not)......
I'm going with Boyd's purple pearl in glass bottle for the seat and inner liner of the coffin body.
I had an idea to foil the whole body with bare metal foil, the gold type.
Or, should I shoot it with the testors pure gold one-step lacquer, and hand paint the intricate deco work on the coffin with a fine brush and testors plain gold from the bottle for highlights?
Engine block appears to be purple pearl, so it gets same color as interior.
Also, what is the color of the flat slab on the front of the car where the tombstone and lantern headlights rest on? Best I can see from pics is it's a light tan color, like the color of beach sand.
Frame appears to be that same color.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

I did the twin car collector tin. Used a gold metal, then a dark gold wash then dry brused the original gold over that and dry brushed a light gold to "pop" the ornamentation of the casket. Then a high gloss finish over that. All acrylics and it looks pretty damn cool if I do say so. Kits are basic they are what they are what they are. _________________ Someone stole my identity, I feel like a new man. |
