There was some debate rather the Red Moore car that Piggie
Bennett drove was a 32 Ford or 34 model. I originally ordered
a 34 Ford off EBAY but Fed X lost that one. Ordered another one
and this is the results. The first Piggie cars I posted were 32 Ford bodied.
Pre 60's cars that raced at the JAX speedway were often fuel injected
or used lots of carburetors. Put six on ths one.
AMT 34 Ford, Testors paint, Ron Coon/Mikes decals wheels/tires. Lots
of Evergreen plastic (roll cage/firewall, floor board)...
Almost the same car as the previous Piggie 39, but sense no one is posting
much on this forum, though I would add this one. No Two are ever alike anyway.
the 32 Ford version, just minor differences (different shade of red)

Easy to build. Get the overall look period correct after that most anything goes. K&S aluminum tubing, sold at Hobby Lobby, works great for headers &
Side bump bars. Easy to bend & shape (can paint or leave aluminum color).
Been leaving the interiors unpainted. The “Evergreen” white shows up well, but if painted black can’t see any of the work done on the inside.
Testors spray paint is great, goes on smooth & drys fast.
Models can be expensive to build these days. A basic model is in the $30 plus range and all the after market parts (wheels, tires, radiators, decals etc) add up fast!! Paint is not .49 cens a can like the old days.
Never mind the amount of hours spent on a model, after all it’s still a hobby.
Most of the models I built go to a new home when done. But do keep a few for my own collection. |
