Completed in the past few weeks. My 1990 Martin & 1991 Allison T-Birds.

Using auto rattlecans, Signal Black and a pearl Dark Red. With the great Powerslide decals.

Removed the netting and a masking tape one for the Folgers. Which craftily, also hides the chipped gold stripe decal.
And just plain PVA Kristal Kleer to stick it down. No need for CA.

On both cars, I filled in the side strakes and the bumper intake on the #6. I had spare putty, so why not!

It's great to finally build these two cars. In the 90's I failed on them both. Poor paint on the 28 and shops always sold out on the 6.

Only small problem is so much clearcoat on the Folgers hood, it barely fits into the car, but I'll live with it.

Thank you to all and have a good Christmas break.

On YouTube,i've been watching the $lapshoes films of these two drivers. Especially the Allison film. This helped to maintain the modelling, not to slack off. Thank god for owning a dehydrator!

The pearl red paint, got lucky with how small the mica is. And with all the clearcoats and wet sanding, it looks even more fine grain.

Feels satisfying to end my modelling year with these classic racers.

Both excellently done, VDC. The 90's Thunderbirds were classic body styles that made into beautiful race cars.

Awesome job, paint and polish..he does honor to these 2 cars.
No problem to place the cartograf? They sometimes seem to be difficult to fold.
you used which softener?

Thanks and the decals are great to place, very easy.

Softener, I use Microsoft and a hairdryer. The rear fender especially.

Also, the #6. To fit the narrow gold stripe decals along the car door?

1st place the centre decal. And place forward as much as possible, (but still on 'B' pillar) so it sits inside the door frame.

And fit the passenger side decals first, any rips/gaps and can use the glass screen to hide them. As I have!

After placing these gold decals and the hood decal, I then sprayed a clearcoat. All other decals are without a final clearcoat.

I am late to the party but awesome looking models. The Folgers car in particular. I have those decals and was thinking about abandoning them after seeing what others did with them. You really laid them down nicely and gave me hope that I could pull it off!!
