Having fit issues with revell monogram 1998 Taurus roll cage not letting body set down where it should. Usually build gm nascar, this is my first ford build. Looks like roll cage is hitting the roof up by the windshield.
Any ideas?
Thanks

A few places to adjust.

The roll cage, file down its front corners. Trim back the dash and maybe trim the engine bay bars.

Yeh, I like building kerbside!

Also, the wheel arches are not opposite each other. They're about 1mm off. I had to slot my wheel backs when fitting.

I've only built one of those particular kits, a Jeff burton quite a while back and experienced the same issue. It was holding the body off a pretty good bit and the best I can remember, I ended up taking the cage out and taking about 1/16th or so from the bottom of the side bar assemblies and anywhere else that it glued to the pan. (Helped to use another unbuilt Taurus chassis to keep everything even). I also sanded material off the top of the hoop and sanded and tweaked the down bars at the A-pillar. I think I may have also relieved the forward outer corners of the dash some. All the while being careful not to let the dreaded space between the hoop and roof occur. On most of the Monograms I,'ve done, the cage will snug up to the roof without a lot of bother but I do remember this one needing therapy!

This link, great fitting info for these Taurus kits. Wheel track, cages and all sorts

Also, the roof flaps sit a little higher than the actual roof, so I sand them down level and their sharper edges do look better under the paint.

Vdc, Thank you for posting the FAQ. There's a lot of good information there.
