Hi everyone!

What is the best way to repair a failed paint job? The color didn't match as good as I'd like so I'd like to strip it and try again. Is that feasible? Would it be crazy to just primer what I've already done? There are some decals laid down as well.

Its a typical plastic kit, sprayed with rattle can from testors and hand painted with tamiya paint I believe.

Its the late 90's earnhardt wrangler scheme. The yellow is close but not perfect and the blue is a little dark

The decals laid can still be saved.

If they're Powerslide, these Cartograph decals are quite tough. I have removed some completely after a few days. I used Microsoft (blue bottle).

The paint, i'd wet sand it down, use the colours as a primer. I have done this also on my #77 Jasper car.
Three shades of yellow under that final colour. Had to spray extra blue to match the yellow's thickness. So it can be achieved without stripping.

But, if your next paint choice is 'hot' like Tamiya, then use lightly over that enamel. Just to be sure.
