For roll cage padding I use thinly cut strips of heat shrink and I elmers glue it to the roll bar. You can get the heat shrink at radio shack. Or you can use the casing that is used on electricle wiring. I have used the casing from a computer mouse cord that I cut up into thin strips. Its up to you and your imagination. I use strips of black friction tape wrapped around the bars and tied with button ro carpet thread to replicate wire ties. Don't forget to touch the knot with super glue or it will come untied.

I use #10 wire insulation. It works real well for the half moon adhesive style padding popular in the 90's. the nice part about it is--no wire ties needed. Here's a picture of one I did in red--black was more common.
