When did teams stop using the factory "K" members under the fronts of the Nascar cars? Did it start in 1969 with Daytonas or before? Looking at starting a Charger 500 build and was wondering if I needed to fab up members as depicted in the Wingcar Seminar?

Seems they were fabbed in '69. Here is a link to the Nichels article from the sticky in this forum. It shows a bit of the '69 clip as it evolved from earlier years.

Looks like a thinned, vestigal K-member in '68 when they first started trying to get the cars lower. Here's the Rossi Roadrunner being lowered into the Lockheed wind tunnel.
