Getting ready to paint the Crisco Oldsmobile and was wandering if I should decan the tamiya #44 blue or to just spray it right out of the can? What are the advantages of decaning or not?

I always de-cant. Enamel, lacquer, water soluble. Everything.
I want the better control of paint thickness, epically if there are multi colors and I also can use less paint with airbrushing, yes I'm cheap
Out of the can you can get a very nice finish by warming the can and spraying 2-3 dust coats and then a few wet coats. |

Shoot it from the can. I've done the decant deal with Tamiya paints with good results, but unless your feathering in varied colors like camo on a tank or aircraft there is no benefit to it. |

Agree. Tamiya paints from the can lay down smooth as glass. _________________ Bill Jobson is my real name. |
