After spending most of the Covid-19 days doing models for a friend in Florida,
I've started to do a few of the ones I liked best for my own collection. This is the
first.. Willie Carter's winged 29.
(The other one is posted & still on the front page of the forum if you want to compare).
Used a Ford motor in that one but really think it should have been a Pontiac...

Used an MPC "Wild One" body. A Ponitac engine I got off EBAY. MPC wide rear
tires (really good, & the kit has four of them) Lots of Evergreen plastic (also good
stuff), and Ron Coon resin rims.
Those MPC kits are nice. Can get at Hobby Lobby for $14.00. Not many parts in a
kit but most are usable in these scratch built models. Hobby Lobby also has a good
in store supply of Evergreen plastic.
Next model I do will be from (boyhood) memory. No pictures available.

I really like this one.
What do you use for a frame? I keep saying after looking at your builds that I want to try doing one.

I think this frame was from a monogram 39 Ford. It was molded in black.
I have used the MPC Frames lately. But depending on the body used, the front part of the frame has to be narrowed. Also the MPC kit comes with a very nice quick change rear end.
These Early modifies used single springs (buggy springs) front & rear.

Check out the fab shop forum. I posted pictures of one of the 2x4’s under construction.

MPC "Wild One" frame narrowed in the front to fit a Model A body.
Can't see it, but has a single spring on the quick change rear.
