Got another Camaro done. Body was painted Tamiya TS44 Brilliant Blue, doubled up kit decals, a few goodies from the new Coke 600 kit sheet, and then cleared over with Mr Super Gloss Clear. I cut the tall clear spoiler down to match the low downforce one they run at Kansas, resin copied the kit teardrop roof camera and moved it closer to center where it belongs, and added the half puck nose and tail camera dummies.

New phone and camera, so I'm still working out the focus bugs. Laughing

As always, thanks for looking.

Joe

Beautiful work, Joe. Clean and neat, and the doubled-decals make it pop. Better than a diecast. I will check in on your other Camaros.

Looks great. What are your opinions on the NextGEN kits? I've got 3 of them to build but haven't touched them yet.

Another great one. I always like to see how good these things can turn out and yours are the ones to look at for that. Someday I hope they offer the Chastain, I fly kit, and I can actually get my hands on one.

Thanks guys!

Jason, I have mixed opinions on these kits. I'm absolutely thrilled we have a Nextgen kit, especially since they came out the first year the car was introduced; their design and execution leaves a bit to be desired though.

I know this sound ridiculous, but it not being designed like a traditional model kit adds to the frustration and negativity they've generated here. Jim scaled the 1/1 drawings from Nascar down to 1/24 scale. Just because the 1/1 chassis is 3 sections, there's no reason why the model kit should be. Same thing with the suspension pieces being all separate. It's overly complicated and creates unnecessary opportunities for fitment issues if you don't clean all the parting lines perfectly. If something is off a fraction a mill, the car will sit on 3 wheels. From the start they used the, "Tamiya quality" line, and it falls short with all the soft molding and flash. With all that said, just take your time and do plenty of test fitting along with making sure the glue joints are square and clean.
