I build a lot of weekend warrior stock cars. Any ideas on making exhaust hangers or brackets. Most of these thing had nothing but tubing which I bend up myself. I hate to just glue it to the frame. Suggestions? _________________ Dennis

Check the 1977 OLDS 442 chassis pics in the Gray Side section. Check the exhaust pipes. Is this what you are looking to do? I used K&S thin brass shim stock cut in strips and formed around the pipes then attached to frame. _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010

I've used pin striping tape for such applications, seems to be about the correct thickness, and copper wire for a different type of exhaust hanger. Both are very easy to work with. You can even buy various metallic colored pin striping, or paint it with acrylic paint which will stick, and flex with the tape. Hope this helps. |
