Want to build Terry Labonte's last car, the #32 Fusion. Usually early 90's is as new as I build. The Danica Patrick kit calls out aluminum for the engine block, and white for the frame and suspension pieces including the rear end and truck arms. Is that accurate? Also, anything to watch out for in the building process? Looks like a nice kit. Thanks

I've built three of the Gen 6 kits (2 Fords, 1 Chevy).

The chassis is the same between them. I used Tamiya Insignia White (AS-20) which is actually a very light gray. The Tamiya paint dries flat so you'll want to gloss it up or go with a different light gray.

There are a few missing bars in the roll cage, and only one fuel line molded in.

To me, the stock build rides too high, so I lowered the ride height. The wheels also stick out too far and need to be brought in.

There's no splitter included, but you can make one pretty easily with some sheet plastic.

They can be made to look real nice.

I've probably missed a few more items, but others can chime in.

Here's my completed builds.

I also used AS 20 for all my Gen 6 builds. For the aluminum parts, i use AS 12 which is a “bare metal” look paint. I use it frequently.

If you just want a shelf build that could pass for a show car, build it box stock. There are some easy fixes for the stance and wheel tuck.

Thanks for the replies.
Were they using aluminum blocks in those cars?

You need the snap Fusion to build Terry's last start because the glue Fusion is a totally different year and the front ends on both are different.

Can you help me with the specific years each one is good for? I had no idea they were different!

Can the glue kit be modified to back date it to look like the snap version?

Thanks to everyone who got involved.
