I have a Resin body that I want to modify the wheelbase on and I'm having doubts about how to move the wheel well openings
I'm trying to shorten the wheelbase from 110 inches to 105 inches, in other words from a cup car to a BGN car of the era.
I've had success in the past with styrene by cutting the wheel well out and repositioning them in the body side.
The resin is somewhat thin and considerably more brittle than the styrene, so cutting them out is probably last resort, I'm wondering if sanding out the front of the wheel openings and filling the rear area isn't a better option.
I guess what I'm asking has anyone done this and have you had any suggestions about how to fill the back half of the wheel openings.
I've considered just laminating strips of styrene and then sanding into shape, but thats 5 millimeters of styrene to shape, I m wondering if my best option isn't to just make a filler panel and epoxy it to the wheel openings. Thanks for any help you might offer.

Photos of the body you want to modify would help us help you.
Are the wheel openings already enlarged to fit racing tires?

Thanks for the response, after rethinking it, ive decide against the modification and building it as is.
Its only a shelf model and I've decided its more work than I care to invest in a "shelfer"
