The early 00's plate cars are one of my favorite styles of Cup car, the Monte Carlo especially. This was modeled after Mikey's 2002 car from the Aaron's 499. I stripped a Profinish snap Monte body and tried to go for the superspeedway look. Pointed and flattened nose, squared up A pillars, and a new rear spoiler with braces. The body was painted with MM Lacquer Royal Blue Pearl with decals from JWTBM.

As always, thanks for looking!
Joe

Wow, so crisp , so clean as usual. I'm always amazed at how perfect your builds always come out. You look for a flaw but none are there. Amazing.

Someday I hope to nail the stance of a nascar racer like you do

Thank you guys, I appreciate it!

The stance really isn't that difficult to nail down, just takes a little practice. For the 80's and glue RM kits, I chop the spindle & axle pins off and glue the wheel assembly to it. For the Profinish style chassis from the late 90's & early 00's, I don't use the front pins or rear axle; same deal, I glue the wheels directly on.

Having a perfectly flat surface is extremely important. I bought a 1/4" thick milled 8"x12" sheet of aluminum last year on ebay and it helps a ton being able to spin the car around and since it's perfectly flat.

I start with the left front, trial & error how high up in the fender I want it to tuck, and then glue in place. Next is the left rear, right front, and then finish with the right rear so it'll sit flat and find it's level.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again!
