Great results with this! Love the details - panel lines etc. And that chassis - nice work with that combo of parts!

Man that is some stellar work there. Nice rivets, plumbing and exhaust straps vs wire. Even the coolant hose clamps!! Only 1 thing wrong with it. I can see the distributor is 1 tooth off. Very Happy Very Happy

What a beautiful build Bob. The detailing is simply exquisite and the overall execution is so lifelike.
5 stars!

Another excellent one from your bench, Bob. so clean and perfect in every way. Was the bumper yellow because he was a rookie in 1972, or for some other reason. I thought he had run Nascar before then?

Hey Mark-
The #41 car was raced only once in NASCAR, at the Winston Western 500 at Riverside in 1973. Bobby Unser, an accomplished road course racer was considered a rookie at that track. Thus, his ride needed the yellow "rookie" stripe. Holman Moody chose to paint the entire rear bumper yellow. Personally, I like the look!

Unser finished 4th in the race, after an unscheduled pitstop to correct a faulty spark plug wire.

Thank you and all the others here for your very positive comments on the build!!! My first build since the mid 1980's!

Thanks for the info, Bob. I love hearing the back stories on cars. Ypu haven't lost any of your skills from the 80's. Beautiful build.
