I've seen versions of this done in light and medium blues.
The pics of the actual car on the web are deceiving.
Anyone know the correct "Blue" to use on this car?
Thanks.

I don't have a pic to post but Ed Negre's son is active on Twitter and he chimed in on this maybe a year ago or so. He wasn't able to give an exact color code or anything but he said it was a very pale blue. Because of the camera quality of the era the car often appears to be Petty blue. But Negre said the car was actually lighter than Petty blue. He called it a pale blue. I took his advice and found a Krylon color that was lighter than Petty Blue and I was happy with it. I hope this helps. |

Very helpful, appreciate the help.
Found some pictures of the Dale Jr Hellman's 2019 throwback scheme for this car.
I'm guessing that car was the correct shade. |

Yes. I believe Jr spoke with Ed's son Norman about the details of that car. |

If you look at promo pics of that car taken indoors it looks very much Petty blue. But if you find some on-track pics with the sun beating down on it you can see that its lighter than Petty blue. |

I saw Ed's cars in person. Definitely a shade lighter than Petty Blue. If you can find it (Testors discontinued it) the AMC Big Bad Blue is close. I painted my Lennie Pond Pepsi car that color, it matched the light blue in the Pepsi decals perfectly.
