Following a 35-year hiatus, I finally finished one. I think it came out reasonably ok-ish, but, it definitely taught me that I have a lot to learn regarding final paint/decal/fit&finish techniques. Lol! So, here she is... and, apologies if the link isn't convenient/ideal - I tried posting images directly, but couldn't figure out how to do it (maybe a fotki issue/limitation??). Thanks!

Looks real good. I was reading on the fab shop section about the yellow color matching issue. From photos I have seen of the actual Wrangler cars, I think the decal yellow is a bit vivid. Matching paint and decal colors is one of those frustrating things.

After 35 years you haven't lost a step when it comes to model building . Excellent job from what I can see. I used to post from fotki , when it was free, so if I could do it, I'm sure you can figure it out. Again, a really fine looking model.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! And, a few more details: the decals are Powerslide, the yellow is MCW competition yellow, the exterior blue is MCW pageant blue, all interior/chassis blue is Krylon patriotic blue (it's a really close match, and so I figured I'd save some $ in the process!). All other paints are either Rustoleum or Krylon, and the kit was the Monogram Petty Legends Grand Prix (and, I think I stole the 5-hole rims from an old Mark Martin t-bird Monogram kit). Otherwise, it's about as box-stock/unmodified as could be. Up next - I've started the 1981 #3 car equivalent. I'm going to do a satin black interior and slightly different shade of yellow for this one, though.
