Beautiful job on this car. Quick question for you. Did you work from reference photos? This car is on my build list. But every photo I have of it. Shows the car with all white numbers. I would love to see a photo with the foil numbers. It would save me some money on getting custom decal numbers made for it.

Dear Erik
Photo of the Greg Sacks car
Maybe i made two mistakes?
1st: using Eagles instead of Hoosier Tires
2nd: possible Greg Sacks drove the car with golden door numbers
at 10 races for Buddy Baker and Jimmy Spencer drove white door numbers at 17 races in 89 season?
Such little troubles are the reason that i´m considering sometimes to show my junk models inside Randy´s ... hahahahaha
Nobody see my mistakes in european forums _________________ I don´t build premium models like yours - i ve built for fun only |

Very nice build! And a good picture too!
I always liked the Crisco car. The colors and the gold foil numbers on gold wheels are still a cool look. I liked it so much that I tried to build this car back in 1990 (cant remember the year but I believe Buddy Baker was driving it at the time). I used some red decal film, an exacto knife and some of my moms Crisco oil as a guide. You can imagine the results. What I would have done for some Powerslide decals and the world wide web back then!
Oh and Thomas, don't beat yourself up on the Hoosier tires, it looks like Greg Sacks team decided they were going to run Hoosiers after they got to the track. They still have the Goodyear decal over the fender.
Those years are fun cars to build with cool little back stories like the Hooiser tire wars. |
