A friend of mine that owns a second hand store just gave me about 35 bottles of this paint, must of them are still good, what type thinner would you use to thin it with for airbrush use.
Was thinking maybe I could use Testers universal enamel thinner, was thinking it is enamel and not lacquer paint. Thanks

Slixx Decals has a page on their website for Tru-Match paints. Perhaps they could offer some insight as to the correct solvent type.

They were enamels, just like Testors. Erie, Pa., home of NFL greats Fred Biletnikoff and Mark Stepnoski. |

I remember them both, Graduated from Tech high school in 1966 and the field behind the school is called Biletnikoff field. |

Did a test on this paint , tried Testors universal thinner and it worked OK, so I remembered reading some guys thin even there enamels with cheep lacquer thinner, so I tried it and WOW paint went on really smooth and a nice glossy finish, and dried a lot faster. Think I might start thinning my Model Masters paint with the Lacquer thinner. |

Use a good automotive primer, I crazed a body pretty bad doing it years ago. I use Duplicolor and MCW, and occaisionally Tamiya and so far so good without issues. |

All I ever use to thin hobby enamels is lacquer thinner. I find that when airbrushing the volume of solvent is low enough that just a couple of coats of Tamiya primer is plenty for thin coats of enamel thinned with lacquer thinner. As always, test first! |
