From Indy to Daytona, if it was a race car (or boat), LeeRoy was ready to drive. In 1967 LeeRoy was driving for Bud Moore but late in the year was offered the Junior Johnson Ford which proved to be a good move for driver & owner.
LeeRoy about to climb in the XL-1 for the 1967 "Race of Champions" Trenton, N.J.,
which was a one mile track at the time.

VERY nicely done!
Might have attended that race. Seen many NASCAR, Indy and modified races there. Trenton had that slight right turn dog leg on the backstretch. _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010 |

Saw my first Indy car race on the 1.5 mile track. Still amazed how fast those cars could accelerate. |
