So, having bid the best part of $100 twice trying in vain to win ebay auctions for Race Ready '73 Mercury Montego resins, it was a pleasant surprise to see that a resin casting project is underway for this iconic race car.
Over at that model cars mag site, the final tweakings of the mastering process are underway.
Mercury enthusiast Gerald Smith is involved. I'll be 'in for a penny, in for a pound' if this car becomes available. Any other expressions of support and enthusiasm would probably be appreciated.

It's looking good. Smart to be working with Tim Stevens on it. _________________ Bill Jobson is my real name. |

They do look good. Here's hoping the demand for this car will help keep prices reasonable. I'm happy to spend $40-50 on a well done resin body that's not normally available.
I gave up chasing the two resin bodies when prices went crazy in those ebay auctions. The same person won both and bid a grand total of $194 - plus shipping - to win them.
That's a major commitment. |

They are also looking at mastering a 76 Montego/Cougar after the 73. Hopefully one of the two will see this post and keep us updated. |

Looking tight and tidy, Gerald. Here's hoping you make plenty of copies of this great race car and need to make lots more. |

That old Race Ready Replicas body is... better than nothing. But it was done back in the late '80s or early '90s mainly to fill a hole in the Darlington Museum's model car display of race winners. Scott decided to sell a few, but the state of the art has advanced quite a bit since then. You'll be MUCH happier with this body. |

I do not ship outside the U.S. period. Not Canada in general! |

You're in Cleveland. I'm in Toronto. We're about a driver and a nine apart across a lake or two. It can't be any more challenging than shipping to Oregon. Or New Mexico.
I routinely send - and receive - materials to/from across the USA, Canada and beyond. It takes no discernable effort to send to/receive from different international destinations.
And Canada, God Bless Her Majesty's Timbered Dominion, is America's Largest Economic Trading Partner. Just across the World's Largest Undefended Border.
Please reconsider. I want to build a great model and sing your praises for making it happen. |

If there is enough interest in more kits being produced, I may remake the molds. The cost is $60 each shipped in the U.S. Outside the U.S. the shipping is very expensive I want everyone to know that up front. Please let me know so I can judge interest to justify the expense of remaking the molds.
Thanks,
Gerald |
