Ace decals representing Larson's beyond awesome dirt season in 2020. was very fortunate to catch him win the COVID delayed USAC Silver Crown race at Springfield in the fall of that year.
kit is stock aside from resin wheels and tires from the Parts Box, the kit front tires are terribly inaccurate and the wheels i used are accurate for the wheels that Larson's car had. the kit body is inaccurate for what Larson ran, but i didn't fell like trying to fiddle with it. added some wing supports and a wickerbill. had to attack some tubing to the backs of the wheels so they would attach to the axles, the kit wheel backs wouldn't fit the resin tires.
if anyone has any questions about how i did what i did, or what size tubing for the wheelbacks, what size rod for the wing supports, etc. fell free to shoot me a message and i will share with you whatever you ask - no secrets here.

Man...that hits the spot. GREAT work as you did Kyle right. I've watched him a lot on flo racing. That young man drives almost everything on dirt. ANNND WINS! _________________ Short Track racing....Ya gotta love it.

Nice work.
Building this car currently. Curious, what kit did you use?
Looks like one of the older 1988 era sprint kits...?
I'm using the Pennzoil kit from 1995....
Was there another series of kits issued after that?
I thought I saw a few online last year, but I do not see any now.
The 1988 and 1995 kits do have different tooling. I have an 1988 kit, but the plastic is so brittle, its impossible to work with.
Again, great wiork and thanks for posting. |

It the newest sprint car kit from Revellogram, the Joey Saldana #17 Indy Race Parts kit. The body tooling is far from the 1988 era kit, and the 1995 kit you are using is prettt inaccurate too. Hell, the kit i used is also inaccurate. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Thanks. I thought there was another run of sprint car kits.
So impossible to find them available now...
I can live with it, glancing at it... it looks like a sprint car. LOL. |

This build is superb. Beautiful finishes and detailing. I imagine there was intensive scratch building involved in this project. Congrats! _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

Thanks for the compliments Pierre.
And there was very little scratch building, just the wing supports, wickerbill, and the tubing to attach the wheels to the axles. Everything else is box stock. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...
