I’m attempting a 2004 Dodge Charger using the Intrepid kit and a SMH resin nose. I’ve never worked with resin parts before and am a little intimidated about cutting into the body. Does anyone have any tips for going about this? My nose piece isn’t perfectly molded and looks like it needs to be ‘bent’ into shape a little. Is this common for resin parts or did I get a defective one? I’m thinking hot water for reshaping it but I don’t have a clue if that’s the correct way to get the shape right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Couple parts to your questions. Here is my two cents:

To make the cut to your body I suggest placing a piece of tape along the cut line on each side and the using an Exacto razor saw to make the cuts. The tape will act as a guide.

No resin piece is perfect. If it is too far off try the hot water, twist it slightly beyond square and then hit it with cold water trick. Repeat until satisfied.

If its close, use super glue to attach it to one side of the body. Once that has cured attach the other side. Sometimes it’s easier to do one at a time to be sure everything is properly aligned.

Good luck.
