Finally built this one to add to my Mark Martin collection. Seems like I've had the chassis built up and body painted for about 5 years now. This is a mix of 1994 Slixx decals and the #32's from a Slixx numbers sheet. I had to make my own Crackin Good decals for the rear quarters and see that I forgot to finish them off with the red and blue that should be on the lower part of the decal.

After this I am down to just 2 more Winn Dixie cars that I want to build to finish off the collection, the 2000 checker flag and 2000 flames versions.

I have to ask what particular race this is from, never heard about Mark running a Lumina in the BGN series. I assume it was a one-off? I scoured Racing-reference.info and couldn’t find anything.

In 1993, found it on racing-reference. must have overlooked it, didn't pay further attention when i noticed that it said that Roush was the owner.

hmm... Roush's Ford DNQ'd for the race so they switched to a Roush owned Chevy?

never knew that Jack would consider a Chevy.

Reminds me of like when davey (allison) would drive a chevy or buick in the BGN series while driving Ford in Cup series.

I know the story behind that, Ford wasn’t working on BGN tech too much at the time, so Davey drove what was better GM equipment. Allegedly Ford’s big star driving a GM product lit a fire under them to work harder at BGN stuff.

I would like to hear the story behind the MM Lumina, aside from “he DNQd the Tbird”.

Thanks, I wondered why Davey drove a buick back then in the Busch series. I did not know Mark drove a Lumina though. Pretty cool.

As others pointed out, Mark DNQ’d the Ford, so they bought Dale Jarrett’s Chevy for the race. Presumably because Winn Dixie was such a high profile sponsor. I guess Roush is still listed as the owner because “he” bought the ride, though it was Jarrett’s car.

That's the story I have heard in the past as well.

Since others brought up Davey driving a Buick, here's my build of his Buick ride....

I've always loved the Winn Dixie schemes for some reason. This is really cool and different. Nice work.
