I get nicely textured foil from the inner foil lids of peanut butter jars. No point mentioning brands because I'm not American but I'm sure one could find them in the USA.

Gofer has some light textured decals that replicate the textured aluminum that they used for door panels in the 60's.

Yogurt containers too, forget the brand but one has a sort of pebbly texture finish. Nothing beats free stuff!

2 inch wide masking tape brush painted looks great and easy work with, some brands are texured more then others just pick the one you like best at the store.
