in the St. Louis area. I got a foot of snow in 24 hrs. Some friends spent 9 hrs trying to make a normal 1 hr drive home.
The wife and I stayed indoors. _________________ Two of my favorite things, a lovely blond and a Dodge Charger |

Smart thinking!!
So glad I am retired so we do not worry about having to commute to work etc in that kind of weather. Having a generator that runs on natural gas also eases the stress levels.
Stay safe

Since I retired, I get up and if it snowed overnight I look out the window, see the traffic and mutter "Those poor SOB's"...... _________________ Dennis

right there with ya, Sundance. I live about 20 minutes east of STL in IL. I spent almost 2 hours shoveling my driveways - I have 2 which is nice until you have to shovel them. and a bit more of crappy weather on the way this weekend... _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Looks like some of you have been getting what one is used to seeing in Northern Iowa, about 20 miles south of the MN border. Woke up to about 2 inches on the ground yesterday morning, 1st snow since the storm we had the 1st weekend in Dec.
NOAA radio was busy yesterday afternoon talking about wind and snow starting around 6 AM this morning.....with anywhere from 3 to 8 inches of snow, and of course the wind to blow it around....
Not a word from NOAA this morning, as it is now 8 AM......
Was clear overnight, but now cloudy....the clear skies brought in the cold air, about the coldest it's been this Jan.....so far.....(key words: so far!)
Will have to see how things go for the rest of the day..... _________________ Ed. K |
