This car John ran once, i believe at Richmond (correct me if I am wrong) as I could not find much info on it, but I really liked the scheme and the challenge of the color shifting paint.

Looks great!. If you do not mind, what was the source for the color shifting paint? |

Looks great!
A life long Petty fan, I do not remember this scheme. What race did it run and who did the decals?
Thanks

It was driven at the Talladega Winston 500 in 1998. I think this was the year that the Daytona race was postponed due to the fires in central Florida hence the Thank You Firefighters.
Disclaimer - the above information comes from Jayski (location and name of race) and an old foggy memory (fire delay at Daytona).
Either way, beautiful build!!

it is testors rattle cans of all things. It's fairly new. You spray a black base then the color shifting paint on it. I got mine at Hobby Lobby. |

Pretty good memory.
It was also ran the following weekend at Daytona which was postponed to October like you mentioned due to the fires in Florida that year. The only time we saw two restrictor plate points races back to back. If i remember a lot of teams used the same car for both races.
Beautiful car and a beautiful model of that same car! Love that scheme! |
