Been out of the hobby for about four years due to serious health problems and financial hardships. I'm a disabled veteran and would love to start back to building. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks and God bless

My big advice......have fun. If it isn't fun, it's not a hobby it's just added stress. I build lots of old race cars I watched as young man at my local track. I'm not a skilled model builder but when I see my cars on the shelf it takes me back to those days. On a good day I think I can still smell the tire smoke. As a long deceased member of this board told me years ago, "I don't build models, I build memories".

Dennis,
That's some great words of advice. I wasn't the best by far, but I did feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment after each build

Welcome back to the Hobby Kevin! Thank you sir for your service!. As others said about building memories. that is so true. I build mainly Nascar models that I saw race in person. I went to both Bristol races for years throughout the 1990's and early 2000's both races for probably 10-12 years. I have built most of the winners that I saw from those days, and now I usually attend at least one of the Michigan or Kentucky races each year along with the All Star Race each year. I have been doing the All Star Race since 2009 when Tony Stewart won his first race with SHR. I was at Michigan when Dale Jr won in 2012 in the Batman car. I am building that now and will likely finish it up tonight. I remember seeing Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Rusty, Mark Martin, and Dale Sr winning at Bristol multiple times. I was there for both Dale vs Terry Labonte incidents in 1996 and 1998. again like they were saying those are memories I enjoy building. Good Luck and I can't wait to see some of your builds.

Thanks,
I just hope I can get back to level I used to at. My favorite type of builds were ones with special paint schemes. I
