I'm building a chassis for a Petty 2+2 Pontiac. Anything out of the norm for the chassis? Peculiar colors? For some reason I seem to remember his front suspension components were dark blue. Any input is appreciated. Thanks _________________ life is hard, it's harder when you're stupid. John Wayne |

Pretty much all the bolt-on suspension parts were the very dark blue. Also, I suspect some of the 2+2s were the Hedgecock cars with short rear trailing arms like the chassis he flipped at Daytona in '88. |

Mack, if you'll scroll down in this link, there are a couple of shots of a hemi at the museum that shows the blue real well. the air intake, the cross vent tube, and in this case, the block and the fan are all the same dark blue Tom referred to. I't's the same blue that has been used on their wheels for ages and in some pics I've seen, it looked almost like anything that could be unbolted from the car was that color. Floquil used to make a dark blue that was a perfect match for it but Testors Dark Blue #1111 isn't far off at all.
