Just starting this model, wondered if anyone can help?

The car that was in the HOF, is it a genuine race car, or a replica?
The roll cage bars on the HOF car don't match the period photos, and the passenger side has four door bars, more like a late 60's cage

What colour would the chassis have been?
White like the interior, gull grey or black?

Guess the car would have been built by H&M and delivered to Bondy Long, so pretty much same as Fred Lorenzen's?

Many thanks

Not a Ford guy, but you stated parts aren't period correct.
You have your answer - fake.

The HoF car is a fake created by the Gastonia Flash. Just about nothing on the car is correct..except the paint. The sporty car bucket seat is especially laughable.

C5HM was kind enough to send some detail photos of Ned's '64 car to me so that I could post them. I found another one that I had saved also, Ned's car is on my list of decals to print so I've been collecting references. It should be noted that the team had at least two cars, both cars were entered and qualified for the '64 Daytona 500. There may be some discrepancies in the reference photos based on the existence of at least two cars used by the team.

Tom
If you do these decals, hope you include the decals for the #77 car that ran Daytona

And for that I am thankful.

Great pics from Tom and Dr. Craft. I look forward to the decals!
I am guessing the car is Ford Guardsman blue?

Thanks for posting these photos. I start to think I've seen all the pics of these cars but these show a wealth of interior detail!

Yes, Guardsman Blue. It probably had a little pearl clear over it also in early '64.
