I scored the edges of the tape, pulled the masks and touched
up a small area where the masks pulled a tiny piece of Petty
Blue off the spoiler. It doesn't look bad but I'm not 100% happy
with the finish. It looks likeI may need to scrape some of the red
that crept under the masks on the front grill off and maybe a few
other minor boo boos, nothing earth shattering.---John

I always check the boo boos to see if the decals will hide them. Make them smooth of course but, looks like compared to my last neon paint job, you did exceedingly better. This one's really coming together.

Thanks, that's what I am hoping, the decals will hide
some of the goofs. Here's the side views.---John

Couple tips to help you if I may. For one, never attach chrome parts to the body (Grille, headlight inserts, etc.) prior to painting. Only attach the header or "nose" panel and rear bumper cover but not the chrome itself.

Less masking, less issues after the peel, no more paint bleed onto the chrome.

Secondly, strip the chrome from parts to be painted like the spoiler. Five minutes under some Easy Off oven cleaner will do the trick. Paint has a difficult time getting a grip on chrome. This is why it tends to lift with a mask.

Lack of doing these things certainly hasn't been a detriment so far, I only hope they help you in the future. Smile

Thanks, I don't plan on doing anything like this again.
I am going to finish up few my builds and then have lots
of aircraft to return to. ---John
