|
|
My idea is this. Does anyone on the board know the people at PPP? What if we could get those folks to produce a Ford 9" rear end with trailing arms. Similar to the 1/25 scale AMT NASCAR kits from the 90s. I think that this would be a good idea. I am to the point, I do not want to rob any more rear ends to make corrections to other projects and have the rest of the kit go to the plastic junk yard. What are the Boards thoughts? Just an idea. |

Am I the only one that would rather buy a rear end and trailing arms instead of a complete kit and not use the other parts? |

I suspect the cost would be about the same as what you could buy a complete NASCAR kit for at a swap meet. I can appreciate not wanting to toss an entire kit just for a handful of parts but most of those other parts are useful in other projects. I use the AMT cages with modifications to the A post area as a basis for lots of builds that involve converting a stock kit into a race car. The engines and transmissions are very useful, in fact just the headers and dumps are very useful for other projects. Then when you factor in being able to use the entire AMT chassis with few modifications under most '70s builds it makes having a stash of the entire kits seem downright thrifty. |

I buy any AMT TBird kit I can find for $5.00. I always try to stock about 3-4 for my 70s builds. |

I just bought a bag of AMT 90's era chassis....no body or tires....but for $3 well worth it....I got almost 4 full chassis. I did also pick up sealed kits for $5 each. |
