Well, who says you have to build just one? Make a notch and aero. That is what I am going to do. I have both issues of the kit decals. The later releases are pretty good. I am going to get a sheet of these as well.

I could make an '85 Monte Carlo. The 86 and 87's are so close in decals all around the car that I don't need to make an 86. I made my 87 last year Laughing I'll prob end up buying a sheet or 2 anyways.

I just can't sneak anything past you guys I see Laughing I know this car has been done before, but the Wetworks sheet is impossible to find and I get requests for this sheet constantly. This is all new artwork from the ground up. We looked at the WW sheet for some ideas, but we found several mistakes on the sheet. No disrespect to that sheet at all, it's just that the art technology back then is not what it is now so we started from scratch.

The sheet is based on the 1987 car. There's markings for 1985 and 1986 also. The only thing not included and is needed to do an exact '85 or '86 car is the correct front fender contingencies. These can be had on my '80s fender decal sheet.

This will be the last one before we gear up for the 2012 cars.

Mike

Any of the Monogram releases of the 1981-88 notchback or aerocouple Monte Carlos. There have been a lot of them since the initial release back in 1981 or 82...

ALL Monogram

your cheapest way to go is either the Waltrip combo or one of the legends series kits for the notch backs and for the aero backs the #3 Wrangler combo #25 Folgers chevy the #17 Tide chevy or the #3 Wrangler "wild side" kit wich is molded in white!!

By chance Mike did you match the blue to a certain color?

Good question. This has been an ongoing debate. Do we match the blue to something that can be spayed out of a can, or do we go with the actual Wrangler blue that will have to be custom mixed by the builder?

What does everyone here prefer?

I don't mind to get it custom made or make it myself if I have a ratio to mix the colors in. I just want something that I can match fairly easy but is accurate or close enough. My biggest pet peeve on models is having the decals one color and the actual paint another. Of course the yellow on these cars will have to be matched too. If it easy enough for me to get a match, I'll get three of these myself.

Mike: Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. Either I'm blind, or this sheet only has 5 hood pins idunno

Good observation. This is only a preview. There's actually a few changes since I previewed this. The hood pins are only a bonus, even if some are missing they can be had pretty easily. I'll check with my partners on it though.

Just a crazy idea. How about a suppliment sheet later that would include the extra contingencies as well as some #15's to do the Bud Moor Fords. Worth a try idunno

The #15 1983-84 may be coming in the future. Use the '80s contingency sheet on my site to complete the 1985-86 cars.

Hey Mike,

One thing I noticed missing on the sheet. I believe the '87 car had a Chevy logo on the nose that was a red outline of the "bowtie"...am I correct?

The 1984 option for the #15 will be very welcome indeed.

iagree with matador88,
sorry Mike but the only complaint about Powerslide decals is the missing color indications.
I only use automotive paint and make my own mix and sometimes it would be for some help to have color codes.
it's just mho.
by cons you can continue to produce marvellous decals. thumbsup

I prefer them matched to an automotive color, or as closely as possible. Spray paint colors come and go, like the old Metro paints and the NASCAR Colors. Automotive colors will always be available, even if they aren't the most convenient.

thanks Mike for bringing these Wrangler decals out again!

I made this sheet back in the late 80's when JNJ had their sheet available.

Had to use Testors paints and the match was not exact then.

Automotive colors are a great idea for the match, there is an exact color blue that matches the car color.

A friend of mine works in auto body paint, he can match the color for me and
would like that done instead of a testors color.

Thanks! thumbsup
