This 57 Chevy is a replica build of ( my cousin)Tim Field's car that him and his Dad built together back in the middle 70's. He only had two pics (Polaroids...remember them...) of the car and one was pretty bad( fadded). But....I did have him to give me info on the car(what he could remember of it...which was quite a lot) I wanted to build this for him to try and put something positive in his life as he wasn't doing so well in the health dept. When it was finished I drove down to Calif. and gave it to him...The look and emotion that he showed... was worth more than any amount of money in the world. It was an HONOR to build this car for him. That was roughly about three yrs ago..2014. Tim Passed away the day before last Thanks giving..2017. I'd like to share the build with you folks here as Tim really liked it.

The motor was a built( to the HILT) 327 SB with a tri carb setup. Muncie 4 spd..hooker headers. This car was a street race car for sure. He said that he thinks he only lost one race when he did the street racing.

The build....
I rebuilt the whole interior to match his car. I did a tuck-n-roll back seat to match the front buckets. A set of gauges were mounted to the bottom of the dash. Also...he had an 8 trk tape player in the car(remember them???). The car was painted this really cool met Blue with ghost flames on the hood. Here's a few pics of the build and finished car. Thank you folks for looking in. I forgot to add the pics of the 1/1....
The 1/1 pics...

The Interior...
finished Dash...

With the seat piping finished...

Finished engine and chassis...

Finished car....

Great job on the paint and the details - even down the 8 track player! It is a very nice build and the story that goes with it shows how great of a project it was in yours and his lives. Thanks so much for sharing!

What an outstanding and very kind gesture. I can see why your cousin was very moved by your build. That is one fantastic build. Great story too.

Thank you very much Mack. Tim would've been very proud of ALL the good responses to his car....The 1/1 and the scale build. He is truly missed..
