KS: And what will be the fate of 9 drivers tonight? We're about to find out! Hello again, everone and welcome to the final dirt track race of the 2018 Fantasy Cup Series season; the Krispy Kreme 100 at Delaware International Speedway. I'm Ken Squier and once again filling in for Darrell Waltrip, my good friend Ned Jarrett. Darrell, of course, in Kansas to call tonight's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race. Ned, why do you think drivers love coming to these dirt tracks so much.

NJ: Well, Ken, unlike concrete and asphalt surfaces the way the track changes throughout the night is very different allowing for some interesting grooves to open up.

KS: Indeed. And with that, we go trackside for our opening ceremony.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please rise and remove your hats for our national anthem."

"And now, race fans, here with the most famous words in motorsports, let's hear it for our grand marshall, CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Incorporated, Michael J. Tattersfield!"

MJT: Drivers, start your engines!

Green Flag

KS: And we are underway in Delaware!

NJ: And the pole sitter JR Sealey looks like he may have gotten a little loose right off the start.

KS: And Darth Vader will lead the pack through turns 1 and 2. He'll run unchallenged by the Buick of Georgia. They barrel into turns 3 and 4 for the first time. Vader holding a very fast line. He will lead the first lap!

Lap 16

KS: And what a move by the 88 of Rob Stofel! He was side-by-side with Edward Carl and got a heck of a run off of turn 2!

Lap 37

NJ: Trouble in turn 3. Ricky Marcis tangles with the 40 of Merling Starlin.

KS: Starlin will drive away but there is not much left of the front of the number 71 automobile of Marcis.

Lap 40

KS: And with the fastest pit stop out of the bunch, Rob Stofel will lead them to the restart! The 46 of Sealey trying to hang onto 3rd but he'll get a challenge from the 96 of Lee "Spud" Loggins! 96 for the position.

NJ: And now Sealey's got his hands full with Georgia, she'll make a move to the inside of turn 3 and clear him in 4.

Lap 78

KS: And there's smoke in turn 2. Edward Carl, apparently with a blown engine. He'll limp back to the hauler.

Lap 81

KS: We are underway once again. 19 laps to decide the winner and look at this move by the 96 of Loggins! He'll blow past the Buicks of Georgia and Vader!

NJ: Stofel's got a pretty sizeable lead.

White Flag

NJ: What's that I said after that restart? Scratch that! Loggins has really torn into that lead. They're bumper to bumper in turns 1 and 2.

KS: And Loggins to the outside down the back stretch! He'll thunder into turn 3 and get a huge run! Out of turn 4, Loggins side-by-side with Stofel! They come to the line! I can't even call that it was so close!

NJ: And the electronic scoring says that Loggins got him by just 2/10 of a second!

KS: What a run by that L.A.P. 1 team! Darth Vader will take home 3rd and Georgia comes in 4th.

NJ: JR Sealey crossed the line in 5th followed by Hick Strutlin in 6th and Merling Starlin in 7th.

KS: And with engine troubles late in this event, Edward Carl will be scored in the 8th position and Ricky Marcis will be 9th after that early crash. Ned, this is really what racing is all about, isn't it?

NJ: It really is, Ken. Lee Loggins led only 1 lap tonight but it was the lap that you get paid for and he did it by inches.

KS: Well, thanks again for tuning in. For Ned Jarrett, I'm Ken Squier. We'll see you next week when we crown the 2018 Fantasy Cup Series champion at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
