Has anyone on here ever used Winscale decals? Any positive or negative feedback from using them? This is in no way being derogatory to the company, I never heard of them and am thinking about buying a couple of their sheets, I just want to be prepared for when I apply them, and, I was curious if they're similar to use as a Slixx sheet of decals and how well do they lay and stay? Thank you in advance. _________________ Would love to have time to finish but I have kids:

I ordered several sheets from SMH. I called Ronnie and spoke to him first about them prior to placing the order. He said that they are alps printed and tend to be thin. He recommend that if the subject was a dark color, it might take 2 sets to eliminate any bleed through.
I don't remember all the sets I bought. But I did order 2 of each. I am working on the Coke Superbird right now, but have not gotten to the decaling stage. The decals look very good, nice and sharp. Again, I have not applied them yet.
Hopefully this will help you. I suspect if you treat them like any other alps decals you will be fine. _________________ Two of my favorite things, a lovely blond and a Dodge Charger |

Thank you, it did help. I'm thinking of ordering 8 sheets at $15 a pop, I just want to make sure they're decent decals. As far as I remember only 1 car was black or dark, so I should be okay there _________________ Would love to have time to finish but I have kids:

Hello Dave, I used Winscale to do Greg Biffle "Nashville Hot Chicken" car. They are very thin and definitely need 2 sheets over dark colors. Very easy to apply & good source for slightly obscure builds. |

Did you clear them first before application? And I agree, a lot of obscure Andretti builds that I'm looking at _________________ Would love to have time to finish but I have kids:

Dave, I have used them too. You should clear coat them before using them. Below is one of my builds using Winscales. As I recall, I had to double them up.

I’ve used Winscals for several of my Petty collection and like the other have said, they are thin, Alps printed decals that need doubling over certain colors. The other issues are their accuracy. Some are based on either pre-raced versions or promotional material, before the car actually hits the track, so check the sheets very closely. |
