This is a true "fab" build. The body is a MPC 34 Ford "slammer, as are the
rear tires. The frame, floorboard, firewalls, roll cage and front end are all
made with Evergreen plastic. The wing also is made of Evergreen. The engine
is a junk box creation but for the most part is a small block Chevy. Rims are
Ron Coon Resin. Aluminum headers and bump bars.
Was warching Stapleton42 on YouTude. He does lots of historic NASCAR stuff.
Saw how they would take a 1930's rear end and make it into a quick change.
Tried that on this model.

The driver:
Eldon Yarbrough (among others). One of the last surviving drivers of a bygone
era that raced at the Jacksonville Speedway. In his early 80's, but is in hospice care.
Requires constant attention.
His famous brother (LeeRoy Yarbrough) died in a mental hospital in 1984.

The "FAB" #29. Have done other versions of this one but have a few of the MPC bodies
and are easy to work with, and I like the colors of the 29.

The "FAB" rear end . Old school quick change.

Eldon, 60 plus years ago. Cool cars, much more interesting than the modified
cars of today...

That's Great! You probably won't find that in a kit form anytime soon. Nice job. And it is Fab!

The hood on this car was usually painted red, or
ran with no hood at all. Evergreen sheet & testors paint
today for this minor change. I like the white hood version.

Wheel wells on the MPC body are trimmed way up. Added some evergreen plastic
and a little Mr. Putty to give some space for "POWERED by SUPERSHELL".
Bumpers are also evergreen plastic (good stuff)...Lazer printed decals work great on
lighter colors, especially white !!!

The MPC rear tires are kind of wide for the early 60’s, but they look good, and I have so many of them I need to use…

My next project, white car, black numbers. A driver named "Yankee" Smith in the deep
south. My highschool was named after Nathan Bedford Forrest. School sports teams were
the Rebels. How times have changed.

And people were a lot thinner in 1960 !!!
