How do you cut decals that lay over like the hood opening? Every time in the past when I have tried to cut them they just tear.

These guys use Micro-sol and decal solvents, they would know more about that stuff as I don't use anything like that. I'm assuming you're starting your Folgers car?

Just want to be prepared when I lay the hood decal since it covers the gaps of the hood opening. I already use solvaset.

I use two methods for that situation. Either measure carefully and pre-cut the decal or (preferred) tape the hood in place, apply the decal and let it dry. Then hit the areas that need to be cut with some Micro-Sol or Solvaset and immediately cut with a VERY sharp blade (I use scalpels). I usually reapply some Solvaset to help the edges roll down and adhere. HTH!

What I do, the key is a sharp blade

Flat handle, snap on #11 blades, brand doesn't seem to matter. I just bought a box of 100 blades for $8, free shipping and a free handle, on e-Bay, of course!

You by chance have a pic of the decal in question? Seems like Valvoline is available on several aftermarket sheets. If not, I think I have a mint Monogram sheet.
