#71M Ecowater sprint car fielded by the Motter Brothers and driven by Kenny "Mouse" Jacobs in 1994/1995ish.

hey y'all, just finished this one up today. wanted a break from a NextGen Mustang so i whipped this one out over the last week. paint is Tamiya chrome yellow over grey primer (gonna use white next time) and various other colors for the small parts. fabricated an oil tank and oil filter (that you can't see with the hood on), added wing supports from rod, and used a few aftermarket parts to try them out... the nerf bars are from SWS Chassis (that i had previously ordered) and i had to create new mounting spuds for them out of tube; the 2 piece wheels (center and actual rim) are also from SWS, they are a relatively new product for him and are AWESOME; speaking of AWESOME, the tires are from Modelhaus (the wheels are made to fit these tires) and are THE BEST tires i have ever used - they are "flexible resin" that feel more like rubber and are entirely accurate, unlike the kit fronts, ribbed front tires haven't been used in like a million years on sprints. LR beadlock is from Dwight on Shapeways, the right side beadlocks and mud covers are from the kit - the kit beadlocks are suprisingly accurate. hood is resin from Mike's and the front rear wingposts didn't fit with the wider hood, so again i had to fabricate something. the seat is resin, pretty sure it's from Big Donkey when he still had his own store.

decals are old skool Fred Cady, most had 2-3 layers. made me realize that we are spoiled now with great decals versus what was available in 1995. when i was applying the decals and comparing the final result to photos of the actual car, i realized that the 71M on the decal sheet were all oriented forwards or backwards, and it looks like i got them all backwards Shocked contingencies are from various sheets.

i think that's it for the details, PM me or ask on the thread if you want to know specifics about anything i mentioned.

(got some glue on the RR that i had to paint over later)

^(messed up the lettering on this one)^
