This Model A modified, driven by David Ezell, was originally
numbered 6, but was renumbered 16 when the owner & driver
had a falling out (very common in racing!!). Ezell ended up
as the new owner/driver of the car.
Based on the wide rear racing tires, this was probably 1964/65,
just before the track switched over to NASCAR style late models.

I posted this one previously, but here is the car when numbered 6.

Here is a new version numbered 16.

Resin body. Wing, hood, roll cage etc. made from evergreen plastic.
frame, rearend from MPC modified. Scratch built front end. Resin rear tires & rims. Custom decals.

The 6 was sponsored. The car owner owned the restaurant & the race track.
Was a very popular place after the Saturday night race. The drive inn would be
crowded with race cars on trailers. Drivers & crews having a midnight steak dinner.

The 16, renumbered from 6, and no sponsor. But Frank Conken remained the engine
builder. He was the best. Everyone wanted a Conken tuned engine...
Driver David Ezell & his usual cigar.

I have become a big fan of your work, regardless of subject matter. They just look right and capture the era perfectly! Thanks for sharing and I hope we continue to see both your finished models and your WIP.
