|
|
Has anyone experienced decals curling after being shortly after being applied? I am running into it for the first time after 30 years of doing this! Some of the details:
Kit Details from Monogram, maybe around 2000?
Used a liquid film since they are older decals
Not all decals are curling, but some definitely are
Tried messing with solvaset, still happening
Any ideas? |

The liquid film is probably what caused it. You should have used a part of the decal sheet that doesn't go on the car to see if it would come apart before you put the film on it. Chances are if you had just used micro set and micro sol you wouldn't have had any issues at all. |

It's the Zombie Island Scooby Doo kit. I actually bought a second set in case there were any issues! Thanks though I appreciate it
Thanks Mark! I'll give it a second shot without |

Papa, it happened to me once. I put too much clear on some decals I made, and the top of the decal expanded less than the bottom part of the decal when it was applied making it curl up on the edges. I kept hitting them with micro sol until they finally laid down. I quickly hit them with some future so they would not do it later if they were thinking about it. |

I used to use the liquid decal film for my old decals and had the same problem. I would use so much solveset to get them down and they would curl up. I even resorted to putting a little bit of model glue under the decal. Once I found out I could spray the entire sheet with a spray can of decal bonder. (basically a clear coat) I never had this problem again. |
