Wood Brother's 1968 Daytona 600 winner. Resin 68 "W" nose body, Polar Lights chassis. Two 4-barrel manifold from 60 Ford Starliner kit, carbs by Fireball Modelworks. This engine block was a 3D printed piece and is a little taller than the PL 427 engine, which causes a bit of interference with the hood! Always something!

Very nice collection of Wood Brothers cars, you certainly did them justice.
What resin body did you use and what issues did you have with it.
A lot of folks poor mouth the Polar Lights Ford and Mercury kits, but I like them and you really got them figured out. |

Thanks for the kind words. The Mercury resin body was done maybe a dozen years ago by Terry Barton. All I really did to it was light sanding and primed and painted. The body came with the grille and bumpers, I used Alclad chrome on them.
The biggest problem I have with the Polar Lights Ford/Merc is the headers and there are a few issues with locating some parts. The bodies always need some tweaking and the bumpers are not as easy to attach as I'd like. I have built 11 of them and would build a few more if there were more decals available. |

Beautiful build sir,
You have found a great formula for the Wood brothers red roof.
Beautiful detailing, paint, engine etc. _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

Excellent as always , Bill. Really love the engine shot with the 2 4 barrel setup. Those carbs are very detailed and nice. Paint and decal work super clean as per usual on your builds. Don't know how this one slipped by me. Getting too old I guess. |
