New to 1960s stuff. Starting 1960 Daytona winner. I have a resin Biscayne body.need any info I can get. Suspension, interior color, did they run headers in 1960? I have seen replicas where the wheels are red but also black.any info on anything would be a great help. Want to be as accurate as possible.
Thanks everybody

Looks like grey interior and black wheels. No aftermarket headers and fairly stock (HD) suspension. See pic:

This car was actually built from a street car in about a week and a half. Interior would be basically stock (dash, door panels, the cut down bench seat) for a street '59 Biscayne. Biscayne colors were generally limited to a couple of colors. I know the '57 cars I've researched were limited to grays but I think the '59s were a little more colorful. You can figure a white car was either gray or blue inside, maybe red too.

One thing to be aware of, the numbers were not gold as printed on the decal sheets. They were fluorescent orange.

From the 1960 Daytona 500 video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mkrx4EiN6M), I grabbed a few screen shots that might help, with the caveat that colours fade/change in old movie film over time.

Wheels definitely look to be red when he took the checkered flag:

Taking colour changes into the film into consideration, plus that fluorescents tend not to be picked up as well on film as they would be by the naked eye, I have to concur with Tom that the numbers are orange:

More details - the front roll bar hoop is visible through the windshield:

Another look at the numbers:

Hope this helps!
