AMT/Round2 has the 69 Torino Fastback kit out now and I'm wondering how difficult it would be to convert one of these to a 68 Mercury? To my novice eye, it looks like the primary difference is the 'W' nose/hood. Is there more to it than that and does anyone have any tips on this?

The tail panel, tail lights ,the fender extensions and the fender openings are very different, too. And the front fenders are longer on the Mercury than on the Torino. Lots of work.

You would be a little bit closer if you start with the Polar Lights Cyclone Spoiler Nascar kit, but not much.

If you don't mind paying for resin, I believe Southern Motorsports has it. Don't know how accurate it is. You can zoom in on the picture of it on his website

The SMH resin was (so I've been told) recast with permission from the Terry Barton Cyclone. If so, the master was outstanding. Terry mastered it himself and it not only had the nose issues fixed but he also fixed a few other fit and appearance issues with the original Polar Lights bodies. I have several of Terry's castings and they're much nicer to build than the original Polar Lights bodies. I have NOT purchased any of the SMH castings since I had stocked up when Terry was casting them, but assuming there aren't any dimensional issues caused by re-casting I would recommend it.

Agree 100% with Tom. I also have a couple of Terry’s resin bodies. Very accurate.
