DK: It's a beautiful day for racing here in the Buckeye state. The cars are ready, the drivers are pumped, and the dirt is about to fly when the green flag drops here at the Eldora Speedway! Hello again, everyon, I'm Dave Knight. Joining me as always, 3-time NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip. Welcome to the Fifth Third Bank 153. DW, what is it going to take to come out on top at this dirt oval?

DW: Well, Dave, there's a lot of unknowns every time we run dirt with these heavy stock cars. You're turnin' right to go left like Lightning McQueen and if you lose your focus for that split second when you come off the turn, you might be haulin' your car home minus a few fenders.

DK: And we'll see which of these drivers' reflexes are on point as we go trackside.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please rise and remove your hats for our national anthem."

"And now with the most famous words in motorsports, give it up for our Grand Marshall, track owner and 3-time NASCAR champion, Tony Stewart."

TS: Drivers, start your engines!

Green Flag

DW: Boogity boogity boogity! Let's go racin' at Eldora!

DK: Pole sitter Lee Loggins got a slow start at the drop of the green and defending series champ Tim Wallace leads the field as they come out of turn 2. Sheldon Hatterfield in that 17 NOS Energy Ford is going to give the 11 a push down the back stretch. Wallace hanging tough as he keeps his line through turns 3 and 4. He'll lead the first of 153 laps at Eldora.

Lap 14

DK: The 23 Wallace Brewing Ford of Keith Wallace just gave a push to the Heinz Chevy of Sans. They'll both make their way past Keith's son Ken out of turn 4.

Lap 40

DW: Dave, Sheldon Hatterfield just made a heck of a move up front!

DK: Hatterfield puts a crossover on the 11 of Tim Wallace. Hatterfield to the lead!
DW: Dave, he said at the beginning of the season that he was looking to show what he can do on the dirt. He's had a rough go so far but he's doin' a heck of a job today.

Lap 77

DK: And there's smoke billowing out of turn 4. The Pontiac of JR Sealey with a problem. Looks like an engine let go. Heartbreaker for last week's winner.

Lap 113

DK: And we've got a car in the wall. It's the Ford of Lee Loggins.

DW: He was running hard with Ken Wallace for a bit. He just got a little too far inside and bounced it off that inside wall. Not a lot of damage but he lost a ton of spots.

Lap 140

DK: Up front it has been Tim Wallace and Sheldon Hatterfield swapping the lead back and forth. Tim Wallace sails by out of turn 2. This will be the 18th lead change.

White Flag

DK: One lap to go! Sheldon Hatterfield right on the back bumper of Tim "T" Wallace. Wallace holding his line. He's a little loose but Hatterfield can't keep the momentum out of turn 2. He trails now by a car length. They come through turns 3 and 4 for the final time. No problem for the 11 of Wallace. He'll win the Fifth Third Bank 153 at Eldora!

1. 11 - Tim Wallace
2. 17 - Sheldon Hatterfield
3. 23 - Keith Wallace
4. 57 - Sans
5. 14 - Ken Wallace
6. 72 - Bill Godlewski
7. 5 - Lee Loggins
8. 56 - Linda Lou Godlewski (-2)
9. 46 - JR Sealey (Out)

DW: Keith Wallace made a heck of a charge up to 3rd today. A Ken's had a rough season but he gets a top 5. Good day for that whole family.

DK: And with that, we conclude our coverage at Eldora. For Darrell Waltrip, I'm Dave Knight. Thank you for joining us. We'll see you next week when we decide the 2022 Fantasy Cup championship at Phoenix!

Brew Dog Motorsports has all the luck. Except for the #14. Momma Wallace has threatened to take over that ride next season! We call her Gator, short for tailgater!! (That is what we call her in REAL life) . Gonna work real hard on the
cars this week in hopes of a championship.
