I have a 150 or so kits in my "collection". When you get the urge to build something and you pull a kit off the shelf I see the price tag so I look up what the kit is selling for now on EBAY. Then, I have that moment where I think I should just sell the thing. After a few seconds thinking, I get my exacto knife and cut off the cellophane and start gluing and painting.

Just took the cellophane off of a Johan kit the other day and started glueing and swapping out parts.

I do for sure... that is why I still haven't built a Harvick or Danica Fusion yet even though I bought decals for a special version of the #2 LOL

I like when I find kits that are opened but complete, or with box damage because then I don't feel so bad building something that might be collectable to others.

I have a few vintage 80s/90s street cars that I am always torn about starting or saving/selling as well.

I feel your pain, but I am primarily a builder so usually that side of me wins out. There are a few I won’t cut the cellophane on because I might end up trading it for something I’d rather have.

Not in the least, I buy things because I want them.

I do have some older issues of kits that are important to me that I don't intend to build, but I got them for the historical value. The AMT 1959 El Camino has been reissued dozens of times but I had to have the original issue...same with the AMT 53 Ford Pickup, since it was the first kit I ever built, I had to have the original issue as well.

With that said, there are some kits that I bought but have been too afraid to mess them up with my poor building skills that I have not touched them yet...60s kits that were never reissued, like the 59 and 60 Edsels are the first ones I think about here. I now have the skills but I have not gotten to them yet, In time...

They mold to sell, I buy to build. Seems like a simple logical concept. John
