Wayne's workbench is officially closed.

I now have an answer for why I've been feeling so poorly of late. I have just been diagnosed with colon cancer. I am essentially alone in the world. Mother's mind is gone and my immediate family is physically gone. I don't wish to be a downer but, this is the only forum I belong to and you are the only people I can vent this to. My brother in law Kevin has his own issues and my only other friend is in Ohio and does not do internet.

I have two orders left to get out of here, if I can remember them. Without giving any names, it's a set of Grand Prix bumpers and the other some grilles and wheels. You know who you are. Sorry.

As soon as I have more information I'll update you if I can. I AM the original hardluck Harry. As the song goes, if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

If you are approaching or past 50, and have not had a screening I urge you to start with Cologuard.

Yes, hope they caught it in time to cure you. My friend had stage 4 colon cancer and he beat it with chemo so no reason you can't beat it also.

My mom had a small dose of colon cancer many many years ago and beat that. Since I am her son I get to go in every 5 years for a colonoscopy. Been clean every time.

My sister was diagnosed a few years ago and after treatment and surgery she is now doing well. Stay strong. You can beat this.

I was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2012. Surgery and 6 months of chemo took care of it. I was 59 at the time. It went to stage III because I never went for a colonoscopy.

My PSA to all you guys 50 or so...GET SCREENED!!!

Saddened to learn about this, Adam. Wishing you strength, focus and a strong recovery. There's light at the end of this ordeal.

And you help to remind one and all about the need for pro-active health care. A colonoscopy every five years after turning 50 is essential. I was squeamish when my doctor first recommended it, but it's nothing to fret about.

Really enjoyed reading your many posts and innovative ideas and your messages about the Mercury Montego project. Look forward to many more.

You are in control of yourself. Do what you need to do...

I had cancer in 2009. Still kicking today!!!

Eat better, exercise, AVOID SUGAR. (esp. corn syrup in food products)

Sugar acts like fertilizer if you have cancer.

Got a message from Adam. He hasn't felt much like posting lately, but wants to thank everyone on the forum for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes. He will find out more on his diagnosis and treatment after the 30th.

I am glad Adam was still signed in.

I am his brother in law and here to update you on Adam. Monitoring his messages for him i saw that a few private messages had piled up. It is not my place to get into his private messages so I will update here and leave it at that.

Adam has had one successful operation and needs one more. Then he'll possibly be getting some chemo. Unfortunately though all prognosis seems good he had a meltdown at walmart the other day. He has been suffering from a severe depression and we cannot seem to pull him out. Basically he was removed from the store by ambulance and is now in a safe place getting treatment. He feels alone in the world even though i am here and Abby is helping. He has not heard from the kids and i feel that is part of his depression. If something changes drasticaly again i'll let you all know. For now he is stable but in need of a lot of council. He has let me know more than once that this is his haven and he misses looking at all the fine models you guys build. I am sure we can get him through this. Please keep praying for him as we are doing the same. He's always been a brother to me and this hurts me almost as much as him. Due to limited mobility there's little i can do for him other than listen. I will try to get him to look here at all the wonderful and kind words. Cried a little reading them and it's nice to know so many care about him. Thank you all.

We just finished up here at the house. Cats are fed for another couple days. I tried to copy and print some of the comments in hopes that reading them will help. I'm just not that smart. I fear this long with no contact is not good. We were working on a project together when he became ill. I have heard nothing since this post. I'd hope he got well and busy with other things than plastic cars...........
I have a mailing address but do not want to ask a questions I may not like the answer.
